Nick ‘vgas’ Reys recently joined the TEK9 organisation and has helped them set up a world class counter-strike division. Read more about Nick and his essential function within TEK9.

Hi Nick! What’s your exact function within the organisation?

I’m the team manager of TEK9 Counter-Strike; a lovely and rewarding function as these boys are grateful for every second you invest in their development. It’s a pleasure to work with such people. In my function, I take care of the logistics. In my eyes, the most important priority is giving answers on their issues - by undertaking some action - and welcoming them in the Land of No Worries. By that, I enable them to fully concentrate on their goal: improving their level.

Are you also a part of the recently founded Gamevibes project?
I’m also involved in the Gamevibes-project but I don’t have a specific function yet - I’ll be at the Antwerp E-Sports Festival as an employee. At the moment, I don’t have enough time to get involved as I’m busy with a lot of things and my job as a team manager takes a lot of time. I want to express my gratitude for that, as Steven and Con give me enough time to achieve my other goals, next to the electronic sports.

You guys are considered to be Belgium’s finest, now it’s up to the team to become the best of the Benelux, in the following months to come, you will be able to follow TEK9’s position in the low land countries. How will you guys try & reach the top position?

I do believe that we belong to Belgium’s finest, together with LowLandLions. We have worked hard to achieve the goal we’ve reached today: becoming a respectable team in the Benelux. I cherish that goal , it’s the base for a brighter future. Our perspective on improving is working hard; talking about bootcamps and attending as many tournaments as we can. We aren’t afraid of losing and we’re even prepared to bite in a sour apple, as long as we learn from our mistakes. Reviewing and adapting is crucial for advancing to the next level.
